About the Job

National Brands Limited (NBL) is looking for a Factory Financial Accountant at their Isando, Biscuits Factory. This role is an integral part of the Finance function, providing support to the Finance Manager, Cost Accountant, Finance Team, and Site Management. The incumbent is expected to be detail-oriented and proficient in data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting. 133

Responsibilities

Compare & report on standard labour hours planned vs labour hours actual. 134
Assist Cost Accountant with the compilation and release of standard cost sets based on procurement Commodity cost parameters. 135
Review, investigation and posting of process variances. 136
Assist with annual Activity Based Costing budgets. 137
Oversee and assist with Production Manual Confirmations on SAP & check-up on error report (COGI). 138
Sundry Invoicing and Credit Notes. 139
Review daily GL Accounts Budget vs. Investigate abnormal variances. 140
Assist with Requisition Processing of Monthly Commitments. 141
Assist Financial Manager in Internal and External Audit Review. 142
Timeous and Accurate Sundry Customer Invoice processing. 143
Timeous update and analysis of Sundry Debtors. 144
Ensure all recurring expenses are processed before month end closures. 145
Process provisional journals for expenses not receipted yet, but incurred. 146
Prepare monthly Financial Journals. 147
Review Cost Report transactions and report on Budget vs. Actual. 148
Report on irregular variances that have been investigated. 149
Assist with compilation of month-end and year-end reports. 150
Assisting with Yearly Budget and Forecast Compilation and Process. 151
Monthly maintenance, verification and reporting on fixed asset register. 152
Prepare, submit and track CAPEX workflows for the acquisitions, transfer or disposal of Fixed Assets. 153
Conduct regular Audit on Fixed Assets to ensure accuracy of fixed asset register. 154
Responsible for Maintenance of Site Fixed Asset Register. 155
Coordination of Asset Verifications Half Yearly and at Year End. 156
Assist with Monthly, Half Yearly and Annual Stock Counts. 157
Compile Monthly B&R Reconciliations and reporting. 158
Ad-hoc Assistance to Cost Accountant. 159

Requirements

4 – 8 years of Accounting / Bookkeeping experience. 160
SAP added advantageous. 161
Bcom Degree / National Diploma in Finance. 162
