WBWR (Webwiser (Pty) Ltd) is looking for a Backend Software Developer passionate about building scalable, high-performance backends with Node.js and C#. The company is a digital experience agency in Somerset West that builds world-class digital products. The role involves working in a fast-moving, collaborative team environment and solving complex integrations.

Responsibilities

Building and maintaining backend services in Node.js (TypeScript) and C# (.NET Core).
Integrating with external APIs.
Supporting large-scale data flows.
Ensuring performance, reliability, and security across client projects.
Working closely with front-end developers, project managers, and QA to deliver backend systems.
Developing RESTful and GraphQL APIs for web/mobile experiences.
Handling ERP and third-party API integrations.
Deploying backend services to Google Cloud or AWS.
Managing database interactions (SQL, Supabase, PostgreSQL, Firebase).
Applying Clean Architecture patterns and modular service design.
Working with job queues, background workers, and batch processors.
Setting up logging, monitoring, and error tracking (Sentry, Cloud Logging).

Requirements

3+ years of backend development experience.
Solid knowledge of Node.js with TypeScript.
Experience with C# and .NET Core, including building APIs and service layers.
Strong understanding of REST principles and async programming.
Experience designing and consuming external APIs.
Good understanding of modern architecture patterns (Clean, SOLID).
Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Git + GitHub experience.
Strong debugging skills and high attention to detail.
Working knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP or AWS).
