Management Accountant

About the Job

Aqunion (Pty) Ltd, a member of the Sea Harvest Group, is seeking a highly competent and excellence-driven Management Accountant. The position reports to the Senior Accountant and is responsible for ensuring financial transactions are recorded on the Business Central ERP program for use in preparing statements, reconciliation and valuation of biological assets and inventory, and review of production data within specified financial controls, as well as monthly reporting on all costing transactions, including manufacturing variances.

Responsibilities

Biological assets and inventory – Stock takes, sample tests and verification.
Monthly capturing and recons.
Investigating and review variances, monthly cost allocation and valuation.
Review of stock control processes.
Assist with process and product costing analysis.
Review sales invoices and supporting documentation.
Assist with monthly accruals and general journals.
Fixed asset transactions and fixed asset registers.
Monthly control account documentation.
VAT returns.
Audit and Reporting assistance.
Document compliance and capturing.
Business Central documents filed and compliant with SARS and auditing regulations.
Audit preparation.
Ensure all process-specific documentation complies with SOPs and financial controls.
Ad hoc administrative tasks.

Requirements

B. Accounting Honours or B. Com Honours degree in Accounting.
Completed articles and a professional qualification in either of CIMA, CA(SA), or ACCA.
Proven experience in ERP systems (e.g. NaVision, Business Central, Syspro or SAP).
5 years’ work experience in relevant accounting/financial position withing a manufacturing environment.
Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Office.
Good written and oral communication skills with fluency in English and report writing experience.
Attention to detail, along with strong analytical and multi-tasking skills are required.
Valid driver’s license with own reliable transport.
