About the Job

The Senior Tax Clerk will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and filing of tax returns for individuals and businesses. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations, as well as excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with gathering and organizing financial information for tax returns.
Prepare and complete tax returns accurately and in a timely manner.
Research and stay up-to-date on tax laws and regulations.
Assist clients with tax planning and compliance.
Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding tax matters.
Assist with training and mentoring junior tax staff.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
SAIT Registered Preferred.
SAIPA or SAICA Articles are advantageous.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation.
Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with Greatsoft, Xero and Sage software is a plus.
Fluent with SARS easyfiling and E-Filing.
