FLIGHT SCHEDULER

Primary Purpose:

Reports into the Flight and Ground Operations Manager. The Flight Scheduler will ensure the efficient, timely, and cost-effective scheduling of guests, staff, and aircraft within a 3-day operational cycle, while maintaining compliance with aviation regulations and operational protocols.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the flight schedule is reconciled with the previous and following day.
  • Accurately allocate aircraft, adhering to maintenance schedules and requirements.
  • Confirm pilot aircraft ratings and ensure compliance with duty time regulations.
  • Enter all staff and freight details into the 3-day scheduling system.
  • Confirm and document all sub-charter arrangements; ensure quote is signed and attached to the final schedule.
  • Confirm overnight arrangements for crew and aircraft.
  • Ensure guests reach destinations on time with minimal delays.
  • Notify camp transfer companies of any changes in flight times or airport locations.
  • Inform NLC of freight/staff removed from flights.
  • Notify camps promptly of any international or internal flight delays.
  • Keep the Operations Manager informed of any issues related to guests, pilots, or aircraft.
  • Report any guest-related issues (delays, repacking refusals, airstrip waits, missed flights) to the consultant and Operations Manager before close of business.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Matric / IGCSE or higher qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the aviation industry.
  • At least 1 year experience in Flight Operations or a similar role.
  • Strong computer literacy.
